part of the human condition is to exist within society by utilising different shapes, forms or personas, and how they are percieved by others, to assimilate into society – to fit in, to be accepted, to belong. in rare cases however, some choose to create even more fantastic or bizarre interpretations of themselves so that they can exist outside the boxes in which society wishes to place them. the transmogrification trilogy visually represents how an individual may be interpreted differently by those perceiving them, and often, the imagining of them as something that they may not, in truth, be. the collection is a visual journey exploring human nature and the duality of human existence – the contrast and balance between the lightness and darkness of self and the concepts explored previously by jung, freud and rorschach. what do you see? what do you wish to see? how do you wish to be seen?
